Most window replacements take 1–2 installation days; doors often finish in one day. Permits are usually not required for like-for-like replacements. Browse all guides →
Do you need a permit in Mississauga?
Replacing windows or doors in the same size opening typically does not require a building permit. Enlarging openings, structural changes, or new openings usually do.
Rules are set by the City of Mississauga and can change. We advise during your consultation and can point you to the right city resources if your project is non-standard.
- No permit (typical): Same-size window or door replacement, same rough opening
- Permit likely required: Widening or heightening openings, bay window bump-outs, new openings in walls
- Heritage or conservation areas: Additional rules may apply — we help you check
